Lead Data Scientist

ASARCO LLC seeks Lead Data Scientist for its Sahuarita, AZ location for collecting, processing, and analyzing large datasets to uncover hidden patterns, correlations, and insights that are vital to improving operational efficiency and decision-making in the mining sector. Additionally, this position includes designing and constructing new processes for data modeling and production using prototypes, algorithms, predictive models, and custom analysis.

Employer will accept a Master's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Geology, Mining Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, or related field and 1 year of experience in the job offered or in any related occupation.

Position requires experience in the following:

• R, SQL, and data visualization tools including Power BI.
• Algorithms tools QDA or LDA.
• GIS (Geographic Information System) tools ArcGIS or QGIS.
• Strategic consulting projects across various industries, including Strategic Planning, Strategic Cost Management and Commercial Due Diligence.
• Analyzing both qualitative and quantitative data, focusing on industry trends and competitor strategies, as well as conducting performance evaluations for client business.
